We are dedicated to education for better living, teaching our community how to care for their own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Established in 2013 our goal from the very start has been to create a Yoga studio with a difference. We have built our reputation for being a company that does not accept limitations and is always looking for new possibilities. We are constantly looking to facilitate positive change in all the individuals who come to us to learn, to receive support and to be part of our community.
We have found that people love our building, we’d consider it to be an oasis of calm in the middle of our great little city.
“I took on the lease for our venue at Bishop Philpots Library in Green Street, Truro in 2013. I had outgrown the small studio I had built in 2011 the Old Bakery in Blewetts Wharf and wanted to find a city centre location that would provide a spacious, welcoming environment for learning and relaxation to take place. I was keen to establish a safe and professional environment for classes and other therapies to take place. Our counselling and therapy rooms have proven to be a vital part of our work at the centre”. – Aimee Blackman – Company Owner/Director.
Here at CYC you are guaranteed a great team of yoga and mindfulness teachers who are fully committed to their classes and students. Each of them bring their own personality and ‘flavour’ to their class. If you are not sure what class to do, we are happy to guide you.
Cornwall Yoga Centre is also the home of Psyflo:
Psyflo is an initiative that produces psychologically based workshops focusing on the increase of overall wellbeing. It is an organisation made of Councillors, Psychologists, Coaches and Yoga instructors that pool their expertise to design workshops directed towards a wide target audience; from therapy-based initiatives, Mindfulness for Beginners classes, to stress management workshops for corporate teams.
This new initiative is managed by Simon Centofanti (MA), a Coaching Psychologist from Truro. Simon is also a director of Cornwall Yoga Centre.
The reception for this initiative has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Yoga practice and instruction from the wonderful teachers has had a huge impact on my physical and mental wellbeing. The flexibility and mobility in my neck and shoulders has improved dramatically and this has helped my cycling and swimming activities. My balance and muscle tone have also greatly improved. Attending regular yoga and mindfulness helps me to relax and manage my stress, it also provides a structure in my life and helps to avoid social isolation. When I pass through the red door of the C.Y.C. I know I am entering into a safe non judgemental space and will be met by friendly smiling staff… If you want to transform your life and improve your physical and mental health, yoga is one of the easiest and most accessible ways to do this, I highly recommend classes at the Cornwall Yoga Centre. -Namaste, Tim.”
Above all else Cornwall Yoga Centre is a place for LEARNING how to find SIMPLICITY in our complex bodies and minds. So please, come join us!
